ISO 26262 is a globally recognized automotive functional safety standard that covers the entire product lifecycle, including requirements planning, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and configuration. It aims to minimize risks in automotive electrical and electronic systems through a structured development process. The latest version was officially released in December 2018.

ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) is a classification system defined by the ISO 26262 standard, comprising four levels: A, B, C, and D. The higher the level, the stricter the development process. ASIL D represents the highest level of safety requirements under ISO 26262, which is a leading standard in the automotive industry and widely adopted by major global OEMs. Establishing a functional safety process framework is a basic requirement for compliance with this standard.
