Fast-charging technology has broken the traditional charging boundaries, evolving from powering only smartphones to becoming a central energy hub within the smart device ecosystem. Considering the multi-protocol convergence trend, Maxic has launched a highly integrated fast-charging chip, offering not only full compatibility with USB PD and major proprietary protocols but also intelligent power allocation technology. It delivers efficient and secure fast-charging experiences across diverse scenarios, such as consumer electronics and NEVs, etc.
MT2801, newly launched by Maxic, is a highly integrated protocol IC supporting multiple fast charging protocols. Compliant with USB PD3.2 R1.0, functioning as a DFP with programmable power supply (PPS), it is also compatible with BC1.2, QC2.0/3.0, SCP, UFCS, and AFC protocols. MT2801 is widely used in various charging products, like power adapters, in-vehicle chargers, and portable power banks.

Technical Highlights
Ultra-high Integration with Multi-protocol Compatibility
MT2801 is compliant with mainstream fast-charging protocols, such as USB PD3.2, BC1.2, QC2.0/3.0, SCP, UFCS and AFC, etc. Charging devices equipped with MT2801 can intelligently identify and adapt to most smartphones, tablets, and laptops, delivering a “one-charger-for-all” convenience. Compared with multi-chip designs, MT2801’s high-integration design reduces PCB size and BOM cost while enhancing system reliability.
High-precision Power Management and Control
MT2801 integrates a high-resolution regulator and constant voltage (CV)/constant current (CC) control loops based on a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), providing precise reference voltage. With the internal 12-bit 100ksps SAR ADC, MT2801 features ±0.5% voltage and ±1% current regulation accuracy, enhancing charging efficiency. It also utilizes FB pin to control external DC-DC controllers, enabling a more flexible power management solution.
Multiple Protection Mechanisms
MT2801 integrates multiple protection mechanisms, including over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), over-temperature protection (OTP), limited power source (LPS) and lightning surge protection. Its hardware-based protection circuit provides nanosecond-level response speed and high reliability, ensuring the safety of both the charging terminal and receiving devices under extreme conditions。
Flexible System Scalability
MT2801 integrates an ARM Cortex-M0 processor and is equipped with multiple timers, PWM generation/capture modules, DMA controller, and hardware CRC. Featuring multifunctional GPIOs and support for I²C master/slave communication to enable output power sharing, it is designed not only for standard charging applications but also offers flexible and scalable solutions for intelligent products such as smart charging stations, multi-port chargers, and communication-enabled smart charging devices.
